THE HISTORY OF ALBO
Albo Group is one of the leading enterprises in the artificial leather industry in the Middle East and Africa (MEA). In 1936 Albo started his business with a workshop for producing shoes. By 1947 Albo began trading in plastics and shoe accessories; in 1969 Albo Import and Export Company with authorized commercial certificate no. 2052 was initiated.

The company began its industrial activity in 1988 under the name of “Albo Star Company” for producing PU/PVC synthetic leather. In 1995, the company started producing textiles used in the artificial leather industry to decrease costs using a backward vertical integration strategy. In 2003, Albo Misr Company was introduced with a new building plant with essential technology and scientific management.
In 2008, the company expanded its industrial business and started producing shoe sole using the most recent Italian machinery and European raw materials, molds manufactured with sophisticated CNC 5-Axis milling machines in the company’s site, guaranteeing top quality production even on complex designs.
In 2010, the company’s research and development department suggested introducing new synthetic leather products to the market using foam, which led the company to build a foam factory named “Albo Nile Sole“.
The company has gained the trust and support of its customers. High reputation led the group in 2012 to consider building a new synthetic leather plant under the name of “Albo Group” with higher technology that could help produce more unique products with better quality and at less cost. The products are widely applied to upholstery, garments, footwear, bags, automobile decorating, bookbinding, belts, flocking, and all their accessories.

The company’s strategy is to cover local market needs until highly satisfied and extend its activities to regional and overseas markets. Sincerity and confidence are the goals that Albo Group aims for, and the vision is to be the top regional manufacturer in the Middle East and Africa.
Comfortable, lightweight, waterproof with good quality sandals and affordable prices are required nowadays in the market, which led ALBO in 2017 to start introducing EVA footwear products as a water-friendly range of products added successfully to its footwear products portfolio with additional investment.
